Camera Roll Orgy

In the back section of a pest control shop in the Lower East Side, collectors of fine art will flock to see the latest offerings from the camera rolls of Lyle Ashton Harris, Luca Imperatori, Paul Levack, Justin Leveritt, David Lindsay, Ryan McGinley, Armando Nin, Jack Pierson, Thomas Polcaster, Nick Sethi and Lucien Smith.

All of the artists are presenting new works for this exhibition. The 11 pieces reckon with the materiality of digital images that are being viewed for increasingly shorter lengths of time. Often forgotten, left behind and neglected as digital waste, the artists assert: these pictures are meant to be viewed. Yes, they are images, but they are objects too, and they are laden with utility, vanity, humor, sexuality, despair, euphoria and agency. These uniquely private photographic works finally see the light of day in Camera Roll Orgy.
